Course Description
This workshop includes 3 hours towards the Michigan LARA Licensure requirement for Ethics. This workshop was previously offered October 2023.
This workshop will examine the experience of being a social worker with mental health needs through an ethical framework including the social work code of ethics, state licensing requirements, and reducing risk of harm to the profession. This workshop takes an empathetic and realistic approach to the reality of being a social worker and the impact of trauma on the social worker themselves.
Course Level: Beginner
Objectives:
- Explore research related to social workers and suicidal ideation from 2000 to present.
- Identify 1-2 ethical considerations for seeking help as a social worker.
- Identify 1-2 avenues for support and help for suicidal ideation.
