Course Description
This workshop meets the Michigan LARA Licensure requirement for Ethics.
This workshop will focus on the unique ethical dilemmas faced by Social Workers who work with children and teenagers. The presenters will focus on disclosures of abuse from underage clients, navigating additional expectations of clients outside of contracted services and setting appropriate boundaries with caregivers.
Course Level: Intermediate
Objectives:
- Understand the role of Ethics in the current Social Work field
- Understand the nuances of Ethics when working with children/teens
- Understand Ethical concerns related to Telehealth
- Understand and manage underage disclosures from clients (how/when to report)
- Improve knowledge of navigating additional expectations of clients outside of contracted services
- Identify how to effectively engage and set boundaries with caregivers
