The Covid-19 Pandemic has impacted adolescents in a major way. Providing support for this population is a must. This workshop will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to engage adolescents in an intentional way. Participants will explore how to build positive relationships with adolescents. Participants will also gain a general understanding of Brief Strategic Family Therapy which provides skill building strategies to strengthen families. Participants will learn to recognize signs of stress, anxiety, and depression in youth in order to provide adequate support.

Tashuna Hunt



Tashuna is a Licensed Social Worker. She is the Owner and Lead Therapist at Space for Change Therapeutic Services, LLC. Tashuna is passionate about creating space for individuals and/or families to evolve and be empowered to reach their desired goals. Partnering with teens and parents, strengthening communication, connection, and developing their mental wellness tool kit is at the heart of her work.

Tashuna obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. She obtained her Masters in Social Work from Grand Valley State University. In addition to her educational accomplishments, she has 16 years of experience working within the Child Welfare and school systems, holding various leadership positions and advocating for children and families. Tashuna is trained in Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT), which focuses on strengthening the family system. She has training and experience with treating children and teens in navigating various mental health challenges.

Tashuna is passionate about her work with teens and families. She hopes that her humble beginnings will serve as an inspiration to others as they strive for professional growth and mental wellness.
