This half-day seminar thoroughly discusses the requirements of MIOSHA Part 7, Guards for Power Transmission.

Topics include: complete review and interpretations of the standards; employer and employee responsibilities; terms and definitions; guards and devices used in industry; power transmission; disconnects and lockouts; and specific guarding requirements. Interactive discussion and exercises have been designed to enforce the concepts presented.

Deborah Ziel

Deborah Ziel is a Senior Occupational Safety Consultant who joined the Consultation Education and Training Division of MIOSHA in 2006. Before that, she had over a decade of safety and health experience in private industry. Deborah currently provides consultation and training services for mid-west Michigan.

Prior to working for the State of Michigan, Deborah was an EHS Specialist in aeronautics manufacturing facilities performing safety and health functions in two Michigan Voluntary Protection Program (MVPP) STAR sites. Deborah is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety & Health. Deb has a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (C.O.S.S) designation.
