Children often hold a traumatic experience differently than an adult. The impact a trauma may have on a child's growing brain may impact their thought patterns, behaviors, emotional regulation, relationships, learning and sleep hygiene. This training will provide attendees with strategies to support a child who has witnessed or been a part of a traumatic event and/or who has a mental health diagnosis due to a traumatic event, such as PTSD. It will also discuss how systemic racism can impact one's trauma.
