The debate between the pros and cons of legalizing marijuana is a hot topic in the United States. Training will explore the positive and negative effects as the result of legalization in its current state. In relation to substance abuse treatment, there have been identified difficulties following legalization that impact our clients recovery. Training will focus on our changing drug culture, personal values, and ethics in Social Work practice.

Objectives: Participants will

1. Learn strategies for addressing marijuana and substance abuse with your clients
2. Explore the ethical implications post legalization of medical marijuana
3. Gain knowledge of the legalized marijuana law in Michigan

Recommended for LBSW and LMSW beginning skill level.

This program meets one hour of the ethics requirement for license renewal.
