Participants in this session will explore the core concepts of engaging in clinical practice with traumatized children and families. Using case analysis participants will practice elements of trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.

Objectives: Participants will

1. Explain the complexity of trauma for children and adolescents
2. Articulate strategies for intervening with clients and care-giving environments.
3. Describe the impact of pre-existing protective and promotive factors, and their role in mitigating adverse impacts of trauma exposure across development.

Recommended for LBSW and LMSW beginning skill level.
